Malawi link school |
In December 2009 Comrie Primary and Msesa School , Dedza, Malawi became link schools. Mrs Lowson our headteacher spent the summer of 2009 working in their school and this has helped make our contact. |
Learners Pilirani Mbewe , 17, is a standard 7 boy and he dreams of becoming a policeman. |
Msesa School has no electricty so we are unable to have internet links. There is also no Post Office in the village so even the mail is problematic. The charity we work with on our link is LCD community development and they help us by providing a postal sevice direct to the school, three times a year. |
Msesa Primary School is in the West Bembeke Trading Centre with hills and villages surronding it. The river Nadzikulu is also near the school. The school was established in 1946 by Catholic Missionaries and the Government later took over. The school has 704 pupils and 10 teachers. Learners range in age from 6 to 18. Standard 1 has 140 learners in the class. |
The pupils and staff at Comrie Primary also hope to hold fundrasing events to try to fund an additional auxiliary teacher for the school. |
