Pupil council 2009-2010 |
The pupil council is a group of elected members from each class. The pupil council meets each week during committee time. An adult is there to help them with meetings but they are run by the chairperson. The secretary takes minutes of the meeting. The pupil council represents all the pupils of the school. They help organise school events and help anyone with problems. They have made up a set of playground rules and these are on display for all to see. |
How are they elected? Each class voted in two people - one boy and one girl. People who would like to be on the Council are asked to prepare a short speech on why they think they would be good for the job. The other pupils in the class are encouraged to vote for the people they think will represent them the best , not just their friend. |
Skills needed to be in the pupil council: Helpful, Good ideas, Truthful, Kind, Honest, Patient, Caring, Polite, Pleasant, Responsible, Outgoing, Confident |
